Hi all, my laptop has Windows 11 23H2 version, build 22631.3447
When I type something in the search bar I get the following window
Window Search.png

and nothing happens. The same if I click the Start button and type something in the search bar.
Can you help me?

Whenever Windows is acting weird... run these commands...

Open a command prompt as Admin, and run... sfc /scannow

IF... SFC finds any errors (fixed or not), run this command next... Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If all else fails, and as inconvenient as it may be, nedi, you may want to consider an in-place repair upgrade.
NOTE: Option Two is the only option left unless you are on an Insiders Preview. (Option One)

For Windows 11...

An In-Place Upgrade "compares" what is installed on the computer, with the Windows ISO image.
Then, it overwrites any corrupted Windows files, with clean copies from the ISO image.
This is how it "repairs" Windows while allowing you to keep your programs and personal files.

nedi, you’ve had two extremely good looking gentlemen advise that an repair install might be a good option, but it may be worth trying Freebooters suggestions just above this post. It could save you an hour.

I have done what FreeBooter has explained in his video, but nothing changed...

That's somewhat alarming, nedi.
You don't have anything in the search exclusion list do you? Like the entire C drive?

Not sure if this will help.

Open the Control Panel in icons view (open control panel and where it says "View By" on the top right, change it to "small icons")
Click on the "Indexing Options" icon.
When the indexing options box opens, click on "Modify" at the bottom.
Make sure there isn't something that shouldn't be in the Exclude section (on the bottom right) For instance, mine only has AppData; AppData in my exclude section.

Not sure that would explain the blank search window though.

My Exclude Section contains ProgramData;AppData;AppData;Windows.
I have changed it and now it contains Data;AppData;AppData;CSC

nedi, maybe you shouldn't change it. Please wait till someone that knows more about that. I don't know why mine only has AppData;AppData, maybe it's me that's wrong?

Even still, I assume the search should include outside sources when searching as well as local, mine does, so it's a mystery to me.

These aren't really common search places so I'd leave it.
I may of removed them when looking for a file, I can't remember. I'm good looking, not intelligent. 😀
