Why not consider moving to Thunderbird its regularly updated and is not old and vulnerable as such an old software is.

The built-in Microsoft Mail App is quite nice and intuitive to use. (But I do not know the answer to the question.)

I see, I do like Mail & Calendar though it doesn't suppose RSS Feeds, Calendar is still a separate application. No thank you with ThunderBird, Windows live is the best :0 Outlook desktop is the closest but it very complicated with all the menus and stuff. Windows Live Essentials 2011 (Offline Install) : Microsoft Corporation : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive Microsoft Windows Live Essentials 2012 : Microsoft Corporation : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive can someone test it out for me? Thanks

Hello,

Probably not as I think it needs some element not included in 11. I had trouble with it years ago. However, I wouldn't dream of using it myself as it has not had security updates for yonks.

Never used Mailbird, tried Thunderbird, but for some reason I didn't like it. I've been using eM Client for about two years and it's just right for me. I have two local accounts, and with google mail I just have it forwarded to my primary account (very rarely get gmail as I don't really use it).

I see, right I could forward all my emails, though I prefer not have eM since it isn't free. Windows Live has all the stuff I need for 100% free. Also eM is just another Micorsoft Store app, it looks the same as Mail & Calendar.

I prefer not have eM since it isn't free. Windows Live has all the stuff I need for 100% free. Also eM is just another Micorsoft Store app, it looks the same as Mail & Calendar.
eM Client is free, but only two accounts, and some limited functions. I didn't know eM Client was available in the MS store, I just got if from the companies web site, stand alone program. I used to use live mail but abandoned it a couple of years ago, not sure if it will function in Windows 11. Edit: I see it does work in 11 based on wanna's post.

Thanks Wanna,

Do you think this will eventually stop on Windows 11 as it does rely on IE to do the sending and receiving right? Does Live Sign in still work, also movie maker and the other ones?

Do you use Outlook account, what would the IMAP settings be?

I do prefer 2011 instead of 2012 but guess it will work fine

EDIT: Was this a upgrade to 11 or a clean install?

As far as how long it will continue to work, your guess is as good as mine.
I only install the mailbox so I don't know if the other features work or not.
I never used the Live Sign in so I have no idea how or if that still works.
I use it to connect to my providers POP3/SMTP server to send and retrieve my mail.
So I have no idea what settings you would need to get it connected to your provider.

It's old, not updated anymore, and probably (to say the least) not the most secure option.
I'm just a creature of habit and will continue to use it as long as it works. Well aware of the risks of doing so.
But if you aren't afraid to do the work and fiddle around with it a bit, I know it can be made to work.

peace
wanna
