Solved Windows Update--Mediatek, Inc - Net-3.0.1.1284

Guys I hope I am at the right place here. I bought a new Asus Vivobook laptop with Windows 11, build 22631.2715 a week ago. I am a newbie with W11 as I was working on my old laptop on W7 for maybe 12 years. So all was working well untill I saw today that Outlook was not send and receiving files. I closed Outlook, and after that I could not open it again...just nothing happened. I then saw on Windows Update that a restart is required to install MediaTek,Inc -Net-3.0.1.1284. I then tried to restart the laptop and it told me that : Closing 1 app and restarting: Microsoft Outlook is shutting down". After a while it closed down and afterwards when it restarted I still could not open Outlook and the message was still there that I had to restart . What to do please....It is no use taking it back to Makro where I bought it as they will just send it away...I have to find a solution please...Is there a way to perhaps delete the update? Thanx

Did the Laptop come pre-installed with 22631.2715 or did you upgrade to it?

Thanx . No it came with V23H 2 Build 22631.2715. And I am only 4 days on this laptop now. Outlook was working fine until now..

Maybe uninstall the Windows Update that may have contributed to the Outlook problem? Or have you tried that already.

First suggestion is to download and run the attached CleanUp script as admin and see if it finds any issues and repairs them.
This is a script created by one of our members here and works like a bomb:

You click to unblock it as it is a SAFE bat file created by one of the members. MS likes to block everything these days (seems it a default thing with them). Many of us use those clean-up commands

Open CMD and run as admin:

sfc /scannow
dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
sfc /scannow

Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore
Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanUp
sfc /scannow

Alright so it did find some problems and did repair them successfully. Try to reboot and see if your problem still persists.
