Cannot put PC into sleep

I am trying to put my PC into sleep, but it's not working. when I select sleep nothing happens. It worked like this from day one. I had a clean installation.

Have you tried selecting sleep under the Power Options and then restarting your computer? I sometimes can't switch power profiles without restarting the system. Also, system specs would be good. Sometimes, certain models of computers have an issue.

When I had trouble getting my computer to sleep when I was running Win 10 it was always a problem with the video card driver. Check to see if the card manufacturer has an updated driver or even an older driver that might work.

OK so at least we are not dealing with the complication of S0 Modern standby.

powercfg -a results show we are dealing with S3 [not S0] so that's good.

Like Winuser said, the culprit is most likely your video card driver.
I had the exact problem, and solved it by reverting to an older driver.
The latest is not always the greatest.

1. Install an older driver.

2. Open Run (WIN+R) and enter:
C:\Windows\System32\control.exe powercfg.cpl,,3

3. Restore the defaults for the power plan.
4. Restart the computer.

Edit: do not forget the 2 commas between cpl and 3.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

Yes, thanks. However, installing the driver did not solve my Sleep problem.
