Hello,

I'm encountering an issue with my computer where it keeps going to sleep even when I'm in the middle of watching a video. This has been quite frustrating, and I'm hoping to get some guidance on how to resolve this problem.

The issue occurs when I'm watching videos, whether it's through a web browser, local media player, or streaming service. It's as if the computer doesn't recognize the ongoing video playback as a reason to stay awake.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to keep my computer awake while watching videos. Thank you in advance for your help!

Is this happenening on your laptop (System 1) or Desktop (System 2)?

If it is the desktop with a separate monitor then it may be a setting in the monitor itself that makes it go to sleep after a certain time. Worth a check.

Also increase the length of time to 'Never' (or whatever time you think is enough) in the above photo.

Go to Control Panel, and open up Power Options. You will see this window:

Power Options1.jpg

Set "Put the computer to sleep" to "Never" as I have it set here. Then select "Change advanced power settings". You will see the window below:

Under Multimedia settings, make sure that you see "Prevent idling to sleep" under the "When sharing media" section.

That should do it.
