Context menu - Copy as path

Is there a way to change behavior of what Copy as Path do in context menu?

I mean whenever I use it, it wraps the path in quotes and I don't want the quotes!

What I want is to change Copy as Path to Copy Path in context menu
Is it possible?

And how would pasting into a command prompt then be able to cope with a path that includes spaces?

You should just try PathCopyCopy, here: Path Copy Copy

It allows you to change settings of what copying the path does.

It would be a lot better if we can do that in new context menu (not the extended menu)

I just tried it on a shortcut that had no spaces in the path. The pasted path was wrapped in double quotes. It should only wrap in quotes if there are spaces I would think. I have a tough time believing we are still dealing with the spaces in paths issue since the folder was changed from "Programs" to "Program Files." When was that? Windows 95?

Just do Ctrl/Shift/C if you don't want the quotes, but then it's just an Address, not a Path.

I get it but for my usage, it's better without quotes (it's easier to add quotes later if needed)

Lost me there. On my stock Windows 11, Ctrl-Shift-C is just the keyboard shortcut for Copy as path and that always includes quotes.

Anyhow, I can't see the problem with the feature always including quotes. A path without spaces doesn't need quotes, but it doesn't do any harm. Maybe the OP is just pasting the paths into a list and doesn't like the quotes, but hey, that's what text editors are for.

It is lazy programming. If there is whitespace in the path wrap double quotes around it. Otherwise leave it alone. Way simple.
