I can’t do it. I am a total wreck. I am curled up into the fetal position crying. I’m calling for my mommy. This thing doesn’t want to play.

You’ll have to live with the Win key + Up Arrow key. This will maximise the Snipping tool app.

There are two other possible options if you don’t like the shortcut Win + Up Arrow. Any chance you have a keyboard that can run a macro or a mouse that you can change something like the middle clicker to maximise? (like a logitech) My mouse wheel (mouse wheel click down) is set to show desktop. It can be set to do a lot of things. Maximise, minimise, open program etc

It's a Surface, so just touchpad. Been carrying laptops on and off planes for so long, I don't think I've even used a mouse since 2004. That's not a joke.

AFAIK that piece of software is called "Snipping Tool".

No win key on a Surface? Doesn’t the Surface have eiable key functions? Can you edit an “F” function, I’ve never looked at one to know.

Edit. I just had a look. If I am following you properly, you may be in luck re-assigning a Fn key on the Surface keyboard via the Windows mobility centre. Perhaps you can assign “Maximise”?

I don't understand this "MaximiSe" with a red squiggly line. All I want is to "MaximiZe", with a Zed. The way Jesus and George Washington did it.

I still don’t get why the have Snipping Tool AND Snip & Sketch. I assume one is being removed in future versions? Or made downloadable in App store?

Snipping Tool is too stupid to remember it's previous state!
If it becomes bothersome or impossible, get rid of it and install something better.

Aussie spelling. We often replace with an S what American English uses a Z for. Because life’z complicated.

Just to be clear, when you say Zed, you’re refering to the “Z” key? Because it was about when you stared mentioning Zed, I lost track of what we’re talking about now.

save as .ahk
right click ahk file and Compile Script
Do whatever you want with exe that it makes

*If your pc is slower, you can make the sleep time a larger number to delay the sendkeys so that snipping tool has more time to launch, if necessary.

K..., this is gettin more convoluted than the frickin app is worth!
To hell with Snipping Tool!
Just use Win/Shift/S and paste it into Paint right away!
At least Paint will remember it's maximized state!
