Is my AIO pump faulty?

Problem is that when my CPU hits 80C, my AIO pump speed (not the AIO fans I guess) increases very substantially and that gives these very loud noises, it's a very specific kinda sound

Is this normal or not? I thought AIO pumps are NOT supposed to be very loud even at 100%, meanwhile my AIO pump runs at 50% up until 80C then goes to 80% iirc

People tell me they run their AIO at 100% all the time and they cannot hear it even then. I can't imagine running mine at 100%, it would sound like a jet engine

**7900x, Deepcool LT720, stock AIO fans,** also the Infinity Mirror doesn't have LED on it which apparently it SHOULD

AIO Pump header should be at Full Power from Bios (by default) or else it stutters as it lacks the necessary voltage. Maybe check that for starters. Can also go in Bios, see if it has option to keep CPU at Full Power during Boot, this way its maxed out in bios and you can check fan/pump stats in there (if that mobo bios has such options).

Most often when AIOs act weird its because its kapup. They have limited lifespan.

What's kapup? This AIO is about a year old

Kaput means dead or dying, depending on context.
  • Incapacitated or destroyed.
  • Out of order; not working; broken.

They are not supposed to be noisy. It's possible your pump is failing or some of the fluid level has decreased enough you're getting bubbles in the system which will cause noise.
Some AIOs suggest plugging in the pump to the CPU fan header which will adjust the pump speeds in relation to CPU temps. Some AIOs have you plug the pump into the Optional Header or even a dedicated Pump header. These will simply cause the pump to run at full speed all the time.

Tank orientation is important when using an AIO to help prevent air bubbles at the pump itself.

I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.

If your pump is a loud as you say it is, it may be time to replace it.

That said, are you sure it's the pump and NOT the fans? Do you have access to other fan(s) to try?

Also, how old is the AIO?

I've been running a Corsair AIO (H115i) for better than 3 years and I still can't hear the fans or pump. That said I run the fans in quiet mode via Corsair's iCUE software as I don't overclock, so I don't need added cooling.

Yes I am sure because I know what the fans sound like, yes they too get loud at a given temp BUT it's a completely different kinda noise, this one I am referring to is more a jet landing on a field, it's that sound when the legs of the jet start touching the ground so to speak, it's NOT a "fan noise"

It's 1 year old just like my entire PC

Also the Infinity Mirror doesn't work lmao, it's supposed to light up with all kinda colors but nope, it doesn't have a color, no LED

I'll repeat the recommendation that an AIO pump be run at 100% all the time.

I have two systems with AIO coolers. The pumps are inaudible to me at full speed. If yours is noisy, it must be defective.

A quick look at the cooler's manual shows it connected to the motherboard, rather than a separate controller. I suggest setting the fan/cooler header in the BIOS to full speed, if you don't already have it connected to a fixed speed pump header.

You have the pump's LEDs connected to the 5V motherboard header? I don't see a software download at Deepcool to control the pump's RGB settings, though.

You haven't filled in the specs for your PC, so I can't comment further.

I never heard of, nor have any ever posted an AIO pump sounding like a "jet landing on a field".

Most people will complain of a gurgling or grinding sound for a failing AIO pump. The only times I've heard "jet" is when complaining of fan noises. Additionally, AIO cooler pumps aren't that powerful to put out the type of sound you claim. That's more akin to high RPM fan noise.

Regardless, if it's making that much noise, it should be replaced.

BTW, I was an aircraft mechanic in the US Air Force for 26 years, so I've an idea about jet noises and tire squeaks ;-)

Maybe you'd get a different opinion here if you posted the video.

If the PC shop sold you the system, they have a different bias than the amateurs here. (For "amateur", I refer to myself and those like me. Professionals, if any, shouldn't take umbrage.)

That's supposed to be a very nice cooler, but no manufacturer has zero failures. My most recent build had one of its USB controllers fail on the (expensive) motherboard in less than two weeks. The replacement has been OK for more than 3 weeks (touch wood).

Specifically at the 2:12 mark, that very second, can you hear that distinctive, specific noise? That's the one I am referring to. They denied it, said they couldn't hear anything. B@tch please, you KNOW you heard it, guess they just don't wanna RMA it, but I know they will have to, I won't let them deny it.

I have two computers with Corsair H60 AIOs. According to the ASUS monitoring program the pump speed never changes. However, the AIO fan speed increases as the CPU temperature increases. This behavior can be varied some by modifying the fan curves.
