Hi Guys, Just booted up my Alienware M18 R1 and in explorer I still have the old style ribbon, from some tweak I did, how can I get the new win 11 style ribbon, like the one below? I think this has also had a tweak to get the menu bar below the address bar, which is how I would like it to be, I @Brink has done a Tute on this site somewhere but I cannot find it

I Think I have totally ruined explorer as I now have a win 10 style ribbon which does not work, any way to reinstall explorer.exe? i saw one way using PowerShell to do it but PowerShell couldn't find the package

I guess you mean using Get-AppxPackage? That cmdlet depends on the following registry key:

Thanks, but still no use, just a ribbon that doesn't respond, still my fault for tinkering with reg hacks which I cannot seem to undo

Were all your mod's using reg hacks or did you use some 3rd party apps like oldexplorer, explorerpatcher or vivtool?

You've never gone "Beyond all repair" if you'll just use the "Backup" tool that MS gave you. It's called "System Restore".
Or if you're even more 'Savvy' you'll have a Backup Image file, of your C: drive, that you can just Restore.

I use the lot, OpenShell, ExplorerPatcher and reg hacks, both my other 2 pc's are fine with it all

System restore, rarely works so I use Macrium reflect for images and Aomei for file and folder back ups but I don't seem to have an image from before the problem
