Pin Numbers

Hi everyone I had to reinstall win 11 as some win files seem to have fell in a black hole. All OK now but I had to do a pin number to continue. Q: How to get rid of it.?

Secondly, when opening a page there is a context menu in two parts. There was a way to formalise it, into a normal single pic, as I recall, with some text or something. Please, remind me.

bummer! I successfully removed the pin, and restarted pc. It demanded my password instead. I had to request a numeric code to get back in and it then demanded I change my pin !

Did you want netplwiz to automatically sign you in at startup instead?

I have no idea Brink; I told it I didnt want pin which forced on me at start up of new windows, I used the No 2 button I think and it said pin removed. Sp I rebooted and use password came up. Something wrong with that so used MS numeric code and got it. No idea, matey, what netplwiz is?

netplwiz in the tutorial linked above is just to allow you to be automatically signed in to your account at startup if wanted.

found, did, rebooting. Rebooted and it asked me for password. Noted two accounts same name so going to delete one. No I.m not - UAC only has one account????

Think it may have been sorted. Wife and daughter both have accounts, never had passwords etc and the boxes was ticked. So unticked them. now going to try reboot again

Sorry. Back on pin. all 3 users box is unticked, only mine keeps asking for pin/pass. Please leave it for now, I will have another go tomorrow, its ZZZZZZ time here

Sorry to be so late, know of the time diff and you have a life to live. The pin number is still operative and the Win11 has done something else apparently on its own. My pc had three accounts, Me, daughter and wife. Daughter and wife and pin free but wife's log in has changed to primary instead of mine? The aliens are messing with me.

Do you mean your wife's account took over your account?

Did she sign in to an app while your account was signed in to Windows?

MY account is still there and I sign in with the pin number. My wifes account was added as was my duaghters, after I was in and had it running. They have always been in for long time and never has the comp booting up and opened her account unless she was last one in. It always openes on my account and my daughter and wife swirch and log in. My wife does not use aps per se, she uses the pc to scan interent for news etc

another weirdo. When I first began to add my icons onto desktop again, when I got to amazon it defaulted to America, something else it never did before even though i used .co.uk

Sorry about being away. I was in hospital yesterday and wife demanded i stay in bed today to rest as I was a bit 'warm'. THe procedure was the check for prostrate cancer. Which is curable but every male needs to have it done. No queueing as we have here, was taken in and done "well and truly". The girls on duty were totally brilliant and in between the "AGH" and "JEEZ" I cracked jokes and the room was a happy place! Had a bit of a fever this morning so rested up, OK now. At least I can now say, "been there got the T shirt" .......................

Win 11 is defo acting up though. Dreading it but might have to clean it all out and start again. Took my phone to hospital with me and when I came out it had given itself a pin number!!!!

That is shown on the signin screen if you made an error during the NetPlWiz procedure - putting in an incorrect UserName or password.

Don't try to delete any user accounts.
That double entry on the signin screen is only a symptom of a problem. There is not really a second user of that name.
Just redo NetPlWiz and you'll be fine.
