Hello, I am new to this group so please forgive me if this question has been asked before.

I have just replaced my laptop (the old one completely died) and i am trying to salvage some of my old emails. I was using the Windows Mail software that came with the computer to send and receive messages. There are dozens of work and personal messages that i had saved in different folders that I need to recover. Is there a way I can retrieve all of the emails that I had previously read and saved or are they lost forever?

They should be there if you sign in to the Windows mail app with your original account.

Do you know your server settings for your email account(s)? Leave copy of emails on server or delete copies of downloaded/sent emails? If the former, you may be in luck, if the latter you may be out of luck.

Going forward, you may want to back up your local email folders (or image your entire disk) on a regular basis.
