My Asus Pc K31ADE,bought 10 years, is behaving erratically...the screen flickers...slightly tap right hand side of case and the flickering stops and then screen freezes and cannot move mouse. You have re start pc.
Asus pc works perfectly for weeks and suddenly the screen freezes again.

After looking inside for loose connections and replacing some cables with new ones.Pc works fine for weeks and again the screen freezes.

So, i transferred my photo's, documents and other personal items to external hard drive and made a copy of Firefox default-release in profile folder and put the copy on flash drive to Dell Inspiron desktop DT 3670 bought in 2019 and i was using for testing purposes ie software programs etc.

Dell DT 3670 is now my main pc while Asus Pc stills works but do not any saving just in case it actually dies.

Now,I have a question regarding the Dell DT 3670 where it is fast in loading websites ( not complaining ) and noticed that when i see an image i like ...and open it another in another window and click 'Save As...' and close the image there seems to a brief blinking effect.

Take Pinterest ...the images appear to be animated and when i close an image more images seem to dart about...is this down to Pinterest site
itself or is there a setting in Windows you can turn animations of ? If there is i forgotten where it is.

Thank you

I’ve never had that on my PC, sounds like it’s a Pinterest website effect.

Thanks for replies,

Werty....I am using latest version of Firefox 124.0.02 64 Bit.

Antspants...Because Dell pc loads websites fast and even using backwards and forwards arrows on the menu bar give the effect of blinking when web pages load...maybe it's just me as i am not used to seeing websites load fast as my Asus pc was sluggish when loading websites.

Well at least the Dell pc has supported hardware and TPM and came with pre-installed Windows 11 Home and has exactly the personal software that i used on my Asus pc ie Open Shell, Bandicam, Freemake Video Converter, Sumatra Pdf, Glary Utilities and others.

I'll either scrap the Asus pc or keep using it now again until it dies.

Anyway, thanks for replies.

Have a nice evening.

Ahhh ok, I thought it was just me. Mine goes dark for maybe 2 seconds sometimes, but only in Firefox.
I was commenting earlier more on the animation.
Sometimes the “blinking” won’t happen for a while, it’s been going on for quite a few versions and over quite a few driver updates, but I haven’t stopped to analyse if its a plugin, antivirus or what it may be causing it.

I was experiencing quick black flashes and audio stutters when switching tabs while listening to Youtube with Chrome but since I moved to Firefox these problems disappeared.

@Fourthcar you can try with other browsers like Chrome or clean install Firefox to check if the issue is within the browser itself or maybe it's gpu driver issue.
