I found this site recently and I find it to be one of the best sites on the net for help. A lot of the members are older like myself who are very knowledgeable. I REALLY appreciate the site. :)

What baffles me is how people ended up in a thread complaining about a flag no longer working if they didn't even have the flag set in the first place.

Well, it all worked for me up until the last couple chrome updates.

Yes, and the reason I jumped onboard was because it was a new issue for me. Either way, I'm happy. Thanks to both of you. I would have missed the "two" disabled flags part except for your bold type. I'm old and a bit slow on the take sometimes.

@sheldonm Steve was just confirming how easy it is to miss the important bits. It happens all the time. Being somewhat repetitive is no sin on this forum.
@steveg You and me both, both old and a bit slow on the take sometimes. And neither of us ever needs to apologize for that. It happens to everybody who is fortunate enough to actually LIVE to be OLD. (Most people don't.)

There is no fix. All you can is uninstall chrome and reinstall a older version. Once the older version is installed you must never update chrome or you will end up with the same problems. I done this twice when I did a synctime google lost my current book marks I was pissed but for some reason it gave mea 6 month book mark. This time I installed the older chrome and did a sync, The same thing happen, however. However, after closing google a couple of times my latest book mark appears. Hopefully they will fiture out that everyone hates the new book mark and give us back our colors. GL eveyrone Download older versions of Google Chrome for Windows, Linux and Mac

Not true. Disable these, in this order, and you'll have the yellow folders back.

It's total crap. Worst design and users have no say. I'm uninstalling Chrome until I read this is resolved. The flag used to work and they disabled it They don't understand their user base. Protest and uninstall this POS browser (yes, all because of the color of the folder. Hmmm maybe they should let us pick our own colours. WHAT A SIMPLE CONCEPT FOR A MORONIC TEAM OF DESIGNERS TO TEST). I woke up to this and I haven't been able to work done as I stare at these transparent ugly folders. I don't even want to click on them.

To be honest, I've always despised the pukey yellow manilla folder look since whenever!
But that's just me and I'm a weirdo..., everybody know that!!!

I think you'll find that Chrome WebUI Refresh 2023 isn't a necessary part of the fix. It's Chrome Refresh 2023 that's required. Plus the other one, Customize Chrome Side Panel, of course.

Also Make sure you widows explorer and delete update file or it will up up every time and drive you crazy.. C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update

You just re-posted #28 above. The fix is right here in several posts. You just have to type Chrome://flags in the address bar, and then type Chrome Refresh 2023 in the search bar there, and choose DISABLE in the options there. Then type Customize Chrome Side Panel in the search bar and choose DISABLE in the options there.

If you need any help with this, post again, and tell us what you think is NOT working.

Try it. It works.

Let's see whether @DavidCarmel does what we've told him to do, and gotten the result we've told him he'll get.

I like the more condensed UI, but, I don't care for the yellow folders!
Got six more Bookmarks on the Bar before overflow!
