I knew it, just 3 days after I reinstalled Windows, after getting tired waiting for 23H2. :weary:

Then again I might give it another go, since 11 is still limiting my network speed to 100 Mbps.

Ethernet or wifi?

If ethernet, are you using cat6 or better cables?

Ethernet, Cat8, but 11 randomly switches it from 1000 to 100, usually a clean install fixed it, not this time.

Maybe I'm dense, but I visited the page, and it's not obvious to me how to get 22631.2506 (rather than 22621.2506).

Please don't post about the enablement package.

Trick or Treat? I did see on the Windows download page that the current version is (Current Release: Windows 11 2023 Update | Version 23H2). On my laptop, It didn't show up on Windows Update, but I'll try again later. So is this a trick, or treat?

Kinda odd-looking update designation. Just "Windows 11, version 23H2" and nothing else. There's another report of finding exactly this here: KB5031455 Windows 11 Cumulative Update Preview Build 22621.2506 (22H2) and 22631.2506 (23H2)
Not questioning its validity, just noting that that format for an update announcement is not the usual way MS does update business.

I wonder if Media Creation Tool also downloads the same version?

Isn't that other one an insider build? The media creation tool is just going to include the normal release which I think is 22621.2506

it should, I just downloaded the ISO. I'm going to install it on a VM and will know shortly.

Edit. Installed in a VM, this is what I see with winver. Gotta figure out why it says 22h2

Edit: So when I used the MCT and selected the Create Windows 11 Installation Media option, i downloaded 22H2.

When I did the Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) for x64 Devices above, then I got the 23H2 iso. So they might not have this working 100% yet.

A clean install with the ISO also worked with a local user account. I just entered nobody@nobody.com for the MS account, it said Oops something went wrong and just let me setup a local account.

Reinstalled with the right ISO and now have this. 22631.2428

I think there is still issues. Using the iso download, my install shows 23h2 with 22631.2428. However, I'm missing things like notepad tabs, copilot, etc.

I had to download the enablement package to my laptop. Now both my windows 11 systems were updated to 23H2 via Windows Update. Time to do a general cleanup on those systems and make backup images. Maybe download iso later in case I decide to put 11 on my unsupported devices.
