Windows 11
Until today, the latest Windows 11 updates seemed to be downloading and installing without problems. Today I saw that 3 updates hadn't been installed, and I cannot solve this problem. I've tried troubleshooting, and the procedures outlined in two videos I found on YouTube:

but they haven't solved the problem. Does anyone have any alternative solutions?

Just managed to solve the problem by using sfc /scannow. Corrupted files (don't know where they came from!!) were fixed and then the uploads were installed.

Prepare to replace the drive. A failing drive is suspected. That or RAM. May just need to reseat the RAM sticks.

You can use the attached batch script to reset Windows Update components, hopefully this will resolve the problem.

You may have a corrupt cache

try this to clear WU then try WU again

...updated...

LOL.. I see @FreeBooter posted a much more elaborate script as I posted...

I note Win 11 has a different file "qmgr.db"

Crashes? I would see if it's crashing with 0x00000050. If it is, reseat the RAM! Make sure the RAM slots are clean!

A quick update to my original post.

The problem with Windows 11 updates persists. These should be automatically installed, but they are not. When I do remember to check for updates, I see that the latest ones have not been downloaded and/or installed. Clicking on 'retry' does nothing unless I first run sfc /scannow. Sfc /scannow always finds and fixes corrupt files after which I can download and install the failed Windows updates without any problems. There must be a reason why this is happening; I'd also like to know which files are corrupted and why.

For the past couple of weeks I've been having problems with my battery draining. I contacted HP assistance and they suggested that I update my BIOS since there is a more recent version available. I was not able to update it, and thought perhaps this was due to the same problem I have with Windows updates. In fact, after running sfc /scannow, I was also able to update the BIOS.

If running SFC and cleaning the cache has not solved the problem have you tried running DISM (after fixing problems running sfc)
First run sfc again. Then use dism to repair component store corruption.

If this does not work try a repair install of windows.

Did the BIOS update fix problems with your battery?
