Voice Access​

  • New! This update adds commands to correct words that voice access fails to recognize. You can say “correct [text]” to correct specific text. Use “correct that” to correct text you last dictated. The correction window appears with a list of words labelled with numbers. You can say “click [number]” to select any word from the list. If you choose a word from the window, that word replaces the text you want to correct. You can also say “spell that” or “spell out” to dictate the correct spelling of text. You get suggestions as you spell out the text. All the words and phrases that you spell are added to the Windows dictionary. They will appear as suggestions when you try to spell the text again.
  • New! Voice access now works right when you start your PC. You can turn on voice access from the accessibility flyout box on the Lock screen. To turn it on automatically, go to Settings > Accessibility > Speech. Important This issue is a reporting issue only and does not affect drive encryption or the reporting of other issues on the device, including other BitLocker issues.		To mitigate this issue in Microsoft Intune, you can set the “Enforce drive encryption type on operating system drives” or "Enforce drive encryption on fixed drives" policies to not configured.

If you want to remove the LCU

To remove the LCU after installing the combined SSU and LCU package, use the DISM/Remove-Package command line option with the LCU package name as the argument. You an find the package name by using this command: DISM /online /get-packages.

Running Windows Update Standalone Installer (wusa.exe) with the /uninstall switch on the combined package will not work because the combined package contains the SSU. You cannot remove the SSU from the system after installation.

However... when I ran: uup_download_windows.cmd ...it ran for about four minutes, then Bitdefender started disinfecting.
Time to restore from a backup. ^^


That's the first time that ever happened with a UUP Dump download. ^^

1. wallpaper was changed from picture -> solidColor black
2. if i try to open explorer it restarts, taskBar disappear and reappear. any folder not only thisPc.



maybe somehow to reset viveTool settings to default for 22621.

For vivetool, the way to "reset" is to just do the opposite of what you did before.
If the command you used was enable... then do... disable, to undo it.


For example, this was one of the commands to disable File Explorer tabs. vivetool /disable /id:37634385

To undo that... the command would be: vivetool /enable /id:37634385

Question, and this might sound stupid, but is there any difference between this update and this one? I ask this because I seem to already have all the features (except for Copilot) listed here and that was the update that brought them all. My version/build is 22H2/22621.2428

i have cured it.

the problem is that i do not know which viveTool values i have changed, nor what their default values are.

about 10 min ago, i downloaded tool viveToolGui link.
selected 22621.1. it showed all ids and 4 of them had different value than default, they were enabled.

augmentedEntryPoint FetchIrisTriggerJSON GetStartedIrisNavMesh RedirectProgrammableTiles 38859191 StaticIrisNavMesh 36803303

i took a note of their names and turned them to default value. restart and nothing, explorer crashes.

then i enabled id you wrote, used as example, vivetool /enable /id:37634385. restart and it works. explorer can be started.
you can try disabling it, restart, and try if explorer would work.

thanks for help, it works now. looks like that default value exists according to this tool viveTool-gui gitHub.

You might try waiting a bit more time when Windows installed the package the first time, until it finishes cleaning up after the first restart (look with taskmanager for HD activity). After it sets the 'installed' key somewhere in the registry. This way, you won't have to install multiple times the same package. For me, that was the solution. Patience :-)

I too have an RTM machine that got the 23H2 update while the in-place upgrade trick still worked. I can confirm that 22631.2428 is not offered this preview update through Windows Update. I'm not going to manually install it, I want to see if it gets offered the Patch Tuesday CU.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

Yeah, I just checked. 22H2 "does" have an X on the language page.
If my experience with 23H2 is any indication... it too will have an X fairly soon. :/
